《The Eraser》是Radiohead 主音Thom Yorke的首張個人大碟，感覺頗承接Raidohead自《Kid A》以來的冷峻的風格，但比《Kid A》易入耳。若這張專輯是Thom Yorke是的個人寫照，可反映他是一個被社會壓力抑得喘不過氣來的人，甚不滿社會現時的風氣，大部份歌曲都流露在這一種思緒。這一種如大海般的思緖，就如唱片封面設一樣，將整個城市淹沒。首張單曲兼主題歌曲“The Eraser” 中的“The more you try to erase me . The more, the more the more that I appear”像跟社會對抗似的；跟著的 “Analyse”更直接道出對社會的失望“The fences that you cannot climb. The sentences that do not rhyme. In all that you can ever change. The one you're looking for. It gets you down. There's no spark, no light in the dark…There's no time to analyse, to think things through, to make sense. The candles in the city they never looked so pretty”，整碟都是這種思緒，實在不能盡錄。
整張專輯，自己最喜歡的，是最輕快的“Black Swan”，很久沒有聽過Thom唱這種調子，像在沉鬱的藍色調子中一道清泉。不過，調子雖輕鬆，但歌詞仍然很沉重：“What will grow crooked you can't make straight. It's the price that you've gotta pay…People get crushed like biscuit crumbs and laid down in the bitumen. You have tried your best to please everyone But it just isn't happening And that is fucked up, fucked up”。這首歌是Keanu Reeves和 Winona Ryder 主演電影“A Scanner Darkly”的插曲，並將發行為單曲，是全張專輯最具流行潛質的歌曲。
有時覺得，若一個悲觀的人，聽了Thome York 的歌，會不會被他壓迫得變瘋了？更想逃離現實？當然這只是我的假想，更不希望有機會發生。
